Jason Bowman. ‘Some people hope getting a few weeks away from the drugs or alcohol in a detox or residential rehab program will be a magic fix. I wish it were that easy. Addiction for most people has become an ingrained pattern of using, thinking and behaving and they need effective rehabilitation, follow-up and support to really cement positive changes in place.’
Whilst people may have been using alcohol and / or other drugs for years, it’s surprising how little they may know about addiction and recovery.
We educate people and their families about the nature of substance misuse, dependence and / or addiction to help them understand what’s been going on for them and what it will take to recover and resume happy, satisfying and meaningful lives.
"The action of restoring someone to health or normal life through training and therapy after imprisonment, addiction, or illness."
Most people when they think of rehab think of residential inpatient Drug and Alcohol rehabilitation programs. At ASV, we understand that residential rehab programs are not for everyone. At ASV, we offer evidenced based Drug, Alcohol and other Drug (Prescription Medications etc.) rehabilitation & recovery support options for people who prefer to remain at home and receive their treatment and rehab experience. The process begins with an initial screen and assessment completed in the clients home where they feel safe and their privacy is protected. The information captured at this consultation provides the framework for a realistic and sustainable rehabilitation plan to be developed. Access to clinical and psychological supports are also provided at this stage as required. We support the needs of our clients in many ways and are also well networked within the public Alcohol and other Drug system, incorporating the benefits of many approaches. This allows ASV clients to transition between relevant support services and sustain their positive change.
At ASV, we also understand that many people do need inpatient (residential) admissions for Drug and / or Alcohol rehabilitation. With this in mind, our multidisciplinary treatment team work closely with two of Australia's leading private alcohol andother drug rehab centres, Both of these preferred services are fully accredited and licenced private hospitals that have been operating for many years and have helped many people recover from addiction.
ASV rehab programs are based on the Living in Balance program developed by Danya International and distributed by Hazelden (USA). The program has been soundly evaluated, is endorsed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and listed in the US registry of evidence-based programs and practices (NREPP).
Please note, ASV is committed to providing all our clients with consistent quality service and recovery support. When a client cancels without enough notice they prevent another ASV client from being seen. To avoid being charged for an appointment you can't attend please ensure that a minimum of 12 - 24 hours notice is provided.
