My name is Jason Bowman and I am the manager at Addiction Solutions Victoria (ASV).

I speak with many people challenged by addiction to drugs and/or alcohol. These people are often highly distressed. Searching for appropriate information during times of stress and drama is a very challenging process. At ASV, we understand the challenges people face while searching for information and support and have tailored our responses to meet the needs of vulnerable people with complex requirements.

When describing the process, or their experience of the cycle of addiction, many ASV clients describe numerous challenges relating to their use of substances. These challenges often include legal pressure, mental health issues, dual diagnosis, physical health issues, isolation, disconnection from family and important others, disconnection from value and meaning, feelings of guilt, shame, frustration, and fear, along with an inability to contribute to life as a meaningful participant.

The ASV intake and assessment process is specifically developed to meet the needs of distressed individuals in a timely manner, providing information and support as required.

Family members and loved ones are able to access support via our family support programs. The latest evidence clearly indicates that when an individual within a treatment family is involved in the addiction process, the possibility of a more positive outcome improves substantially.

Our rehab at-home treatment and rehab options offer contemporary treatment options delivered within the persons home where they feel safe and their privacy is protected.

All ASV treatment and support options provide all participants with an authentic opportunity at achieving positive change to all participants.

To sustain positive change, it's important that the person is prepared to go to any lengths.

It's critical at this stage that the individual seeking change receives accurate evidence-based information regarding the essential nature of the challenges that they are facing.

The purpose of an effective evidence-based addiction treatment programme is to motivate internal psychological and emotional change.

At ASV, we ask our clients to put in as much effort into achieving recovery as they would have put into getting high or intoxicated.
